{"id":20,"date":"2024-04-20T15:27:43","date_gmt":"2024-04-20T15:27:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/science4u.info\/2010\/?page_id=20"},"modified":"2024-07-13T20:09:17","modified_gmt":"2024-07-13T20:09:17","slug":"organising-group","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/science4u.info\/2010\/organising-group\/","title":{"rendered":"Organising Group"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Annual Schools Science Conference is organised by <strong>science4u.info<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 7th event, Science is All Around Us, is produced in collaboration with The Royal College of Pathologists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The event\u2019s main objectives are to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Inspire students to study science<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Demonstrate the importance of science in health and everyday life<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Showcase some of the myriad careers open to those who study science.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The conference is exclusively presented by experienced professionals in the fields of science and healthcare, and attracts around 350 students from London secondary schools and further education colleges (years 9-11) along with their teachers.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The backbone of the conference is made up of 80-100 enthusiastic volunteer scientists from various sectors, including NHS, academia, public sectors, industry, and commerce, who provide engaging hands-on displays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 2010 organising group comprised:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"organisinggroup wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Don Henderson <\/strong>(Conference Chairman)<br>Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Sue Alexander<\/strong><br>The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Manfred Almeida<\/strong><br>Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Mike Carter<\/strong><br>The Health Protection Agency<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Danya Cohen<\/strong><br>Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Chrystalla Ferrier<\/strong><br>University of Westminster<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Georgina Lavender<\/strong><br>georgina\u2019s science<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Sharon Gage<\/strong> (Event Organiser)<br>SRG Project Management<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Annual Schools Science Conference is organised by science4u.info The 7th event, Science is All Around Us, is produced in collaboration with The Royal College of Pathologists.
