STEM Club leaders will learn how their club can be an asset to the school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Paula Bull\u00a0<\/strong><br><em>Science Learning Partnership Lead for South London, Computing Hub Lead for London, Surrey and West Sussex\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group inspiration radius-medium has-primary-background-color has-background has-global-padding is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\" style=\"margin-bottom:0px\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-401\" style=\"width: 720px;\" src=\"https:\/\/science4u.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/SSC-logo-science4inspiration.gif\" alt=\"Science for Inspiration\"><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-x-large-font-size\" style=\"font-style:normal;font-weight:700\">What does science say about Climate Change?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Keynote Speaker <\/strong><br>Hugh Montgomery<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-large-font-size\">Twenty years ago, vested interests were running campaigns to say that human-induced climate change didn\u2019t exist.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-large-font-size\">The warnings of scientists were drowned out.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-large-font-size\">Twenty years later, we all know the truth: science and lived experience tells us that climate change is very real, and very dangerous.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-large-font-size\">But what does science say about the next 20 years?&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-large-font-size\">And what must be done?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-global-padding is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<p>Hugh is Professor of Intensive Care Medicine at UCL where he also directs the Centre for Human Health &amp; Performance.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Amongst other things, he discovered the first \u2018gene for human fitness\u2019, has published &gt;550 scientific research articles, &amp; has won &gt;8 (inter)national awards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He has also worked in the field of climate change and health for over 20 years. He chaired the two Lancet Commissions on Human Health &amp; Climate Change, &amp; now the 5-year, 32-country annual Lancet Countdown on Health &amp; Climate Change.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He\u2019s written &amp; lectured extensively on the subject, and has briefed policymakers (inter)nationally.
