In this session based on an Ri off-the-shelf Masterclass, you will explore how tools such as the micro:bit can collect and analyse data and be used to coach cricket batting technique.
By measuring the movement of a cricket bat and using real-time feedback, you will discover how computer science can revolutionise sports while building critical data analysis skills.

All presentations will be competing for the Association for Laboratory Medicine Trophy
for the Don Henderson Award.
The award will be presented at the end of the day.

Keynote Speaker
Fiona Clark
Professor Fiona Clark will talk about her career and the joy of working in STEM
Fiona began work in the defence industry, to her surprise, some 40 years ago writing simulations of electronic equipment and operational environments. She helped to optimise the systems’ performance in protecting our RAF aircraft from guided missile attack, attending a number of RAF trials and developing tactics still used in active service today. She enjoys making the complex subject of Electronic Warfare (EW) accessible to all and was awarded visiting Professor status and Cranfield University in 2023. As Head of Capability for EW Sensors at Leonardo UK, Fiona’s current role sees her responsible for driving developments of new (EW) equipment out to 2035 and beyond.
