Client Services Unit (CSU)
Specimen reception is crucial in the pathology department as it receives and organises patient samples along with information for testing in relevant labs
Autoimmunity Laboratory
Autoimmunity is caused when the immune system, which would normally recognise and destroy viruses and bacteria, attacks the body’s own tissues
Molecular/HIV Laboratory
The immunology lab collaborates with other clinical disciplines to monitor disease progression and effectiveness of treatment of diseases
Cellular Laboratory
The immunology lab handles the investigation of immunodeficiency, Tuberculosis diagnosis, and studies cancer cells in those with leukemia
Allergy Laboratory
Allergies are increasing in the population, affecting around 15 to 20%, and involve an exaggerated immune response to harmless substances
